Hola! I am Iza, a senior in high school who believes in justice, equity, and human connection. I grew up in Chula Vista, CA, as a half Mexicana in a mainly Mexican community with a family deeply rooted in Chicano Power. As you may discover in this portfolio, I have a passion for activism. Other than standing up for human rights, I love almost all things that the Earth has to offer. I have played guitar since I was 11, have an eclectic taste in movies and music, I spend my weekends searching the swap-meet for treasures of other eras, and I always come equipped with blue mascara. I savor sunny afternoons in Balboa Park, extravagant new meals or grandma's bean burritos, the smell of orange blossoms on my family's 100 year old orange tree, and conversations with new people. I hope that one day I get to have one with you!
