Women's Health was the first class I ever had a part in leading/facilitating. Nuvia Ruland, 11th grade biology teacher and overall inspiring woman, invited my best friend Ana De Almeida Amaral and I to help her teach the young women at our school about their bodies, minds, and societal oppressions. Topics included reproductive health from guest teacher, Marcy (Planned Parenthood), brain health and campus sexual assault from senior student leaders Taylor and Victoria, body image and nutrition from Ms. Nuvia, and Gender and Sexuality from Ana and myself. This was a wonderful group of tight knit ladies and I am so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of it! ¡¡Viva la mujer!!
